Roberto Alomar’s Hall of Fame career took him to Cleveland for three seasons where he was an all-star in each of those seasons having a cumulative .323 batting average, hitting 63 home runs with 309 RBI. During the 2001 season, Alomar played in 156 games in the field and had only six errors with a .992 fielding percentage, which earned him his 10th and final Gold Glove Award. His 10 Gold Glove Awards are the most ever by a second baseman as he eclipsed the total of Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg's total of nine, making him arguably the greatest defensive second baseman of all-time.

This glimmering and iconic 17 x 16 inch trophy, awarded to Alomar in 2001, displays a gold-painted Rawlings Major Gold Glove Series glove model PRO-701BF with “The Gold Glove Co.” lettering in gold on an embroidered patch running along the back of the pinky finger mounted on a solid oak platform. The award also features a portrait etching of Alomar wearing a Cleveland Indians cap embossed onto a metallic gold colored plate with a pair of gold painted Rawlings baseballs supported by golden tripods on either side adorned with the familiar red Rawlings logo under each ball above a descriptive nameplate reading “2001 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Presented to ROBERTO ALOMAR Honoring His Selection As ‘THE FINEST IN THE FIELD!’” A special piece which established its recipient as the most decorated defensive second baseman in Major League history.
