Presented here is the most historic Michael Jordan jersey ever put up for auction – his final NBA game worn jersey from his final game ever played on April 16th, 2003 in Philadelphia. Jordan, who is widely considered the greatest basketball player of all time and is credited for being the catalyst of the modern-day NBA, not only wore this jersey for his final game of his historic career, but also for at least 14 total games. That’s a significant amount of games for a player to wear a jersey and not just any player, but Michael Jordan.

Additionally, not only is this jersey photo matched by two authentication companies (MeiGray & Sports Investors) to 14 games, but it also comes directly from the personal collection of George Koehler, who is a long-time associate of Michael Jordan dating back to when Jordan joined the Bulls in 1984, having originally been his limousine driver, then his personal assistant and friend. Koehler was also part in the popular ESPN documentary The Last Dance.

As would be expected of a jersey worn multiple times, this blue mesh Wizards jersey displays heavy game use having been laundered multiple times and shows puckering of the twill letters and numbers, along with loose threads. Across the front of this Nike size 50 jersey is “WIZARDS” and “23”, both sewn on in white, bronze and black tackle twill. The NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left chest and the left side has a thick black stripe that is outlined in bronze and black. The Nike tag, along with the Wizards logo and NBA AUTHENTICS tags, along with a “LENGTH +4” flag are sewn on the bottom front left tail. The back of this jersey has “JORDAN” sewn on in white and bronze tackle twill and “23” sewn on in white, bronze and black tackle twill. There is also a tag on the inside seam that has the Nike logo and “2002-2003”.

Adding to this already historic gamer is the bold signature of Jordan on the “2” on the back in black marker. The authentication companies the MeiGray Group and Sports Investors Authentication have each photo matched this jersey to the following Washington Wizards’ games – 2/25/2003, 3/9/2003, 3/14/2003, 3/21/2003, 3/23/2003, 3/25/2003, 3/26/2003, 3/28/2003, 3/30/2003, 4/3/2003, 4/6/2003, 4/8/2003, 4/11/2003 and 4/16/2003. The perfect Jordan jersey that completed his legendary career and it comes with LOAs from MeiGray (156213), Sports Investors Authentication (201115A4) and George Koehler for the game use and a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A40363) for the signature.
