The 2002 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, played in Milwaukee’s Miller Park, will forever be remembered for the wrong reason – it ended in a tie. Up until that point, however, it was a fantastic game. The American League squad scored four runs in the top of the 7th inning to take a 6-5 lead, only to have the National League score two in the bottom of the frame to take a 7-6 lead. The AL immediately responded with a run in the top of the 8th inning to tie the game at 7-7. That would be the final score, as after 11 innings – and 19 different pitchers used – the game was called. Barry Bonds was robbed of a home run after a great catch by Torii Hunter in the 1st inning, but then homered in his next at-bat off of Roy Halladay.
Presented here is a Jostens-manufactured 2002 American League All-Star Game ring, which features a single round CZ centered on a large blue colored stone. “2002 ALL STAR” and MLB logos appear around the bezel setting. One side of the ring displays the 2002 MLB All-Star Game logo, while the American League logo is shown on the opposite side. The inside of the band is marked “© JOSTENS YLTM”. This ring is an approximate size 9 ½ and weighs approximately 19.5 grams. This ring comes with a LOA from Jacqueline Autry.
