In baseball, pitchers get celebrated by throwing no-hitters and more impressively perfect games. There have been ** no-hitters thrown in the history of the game and 27 perfect games. On the offensive side, even more rare than the perfect game, are four home run games. Only 18 times has anyone ever hit four home runs in a single game.
One of those occasions, was Shawn Green of the Los Angeles Dodgers during the May 23rd, 2002 game in Milwaukee. While wearing this historic Dodgers road jersey, the left-handed Green blasted home runs of Brewers pitchers’ Glendon Rusch in the second inning, Brian Mallette in the fourth and fifth innings and Jose Cabrera in the ninth inning to cap his perfect 6-for-6 game and 7 RBI performance in the Dodgers 16-3 rout.
This Dodgers Rawlings size 50 button-down road gray jersey features “Los Angeles” and a paraph sewn on the front in blue, gray and white tackle twill. Green’s number “15” is sewn on in red tackle twill on the left center. Blue piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons. The Rawlings tag with “50” and “SET 1 2002” flags are sewn on the left front tail. The back of the jersey has “GREEN” sewn on in blue and white tackle twill and his number “15” sewn on in blue, gray and white tackle twill. The left sleeve has “Dodgers” patch, while the right sleeve has “DODGER STADIUM 1962-2002 40th ANNIVERSARY” patch. Each sleeve has a single blue piping an inch off the ends.
To mark the historic occasion, Green signed his name on the top rung of the “5” on the back and inscribed “6 for 6 4 HRs 19 Total Bases” on the middle rung of the “5” and “5/23/02 vs. Brewers” on the right side of the “5” below the previous inscription. An incredible opportunity to own a piece of baseball history from a feat rarer than a perfect game. A perfect jersey!
