The defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots looked as unstoppable in 2004 as they did the previous season. Quarterback Tom Brady began the season by continuing his winning streak, eventually running it to 21 straight. When the Pats came to Miami for their December 20th Monday Night Football game, the hapless Dolphins looked like an easy mark for Brady’s boys. Indeed, the Patriots were up by 11 points with three minutes left to play when an interception triggered a remarkable last-minute win for Miami. Like the true professional he was, Brady did not let this heartbreaker of a loss derail his season – he’d close the books on ’04 by throwing for 3,692 yards and 28 touchdowns, along with a 92.6 passer rating, then go on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX.
This is the complete uniform worn by Tom Brady during the December 20th game against Miami. The white mesh jersey has Brady’s number “12” on the front in navy, white and red tackle twill below a Patriots logo patch. An NFL/Reebok label is sewn in the lower left front tail with a size “48” hand tag attached. The neck opening is trimmed in navy and white ribbing and a white strip tag with “04-48” is sewn inside the collar. Each shoulder has his number “12” and a Patriots logo patch. The back has “BRADY” in navy tackle twill letters on a white mesh nameplate above his number “12” in navy, white and red tackle twill. The navy pants have dual red and white stripes down each side with a Reebok patch on the right thigh and an NFL patch on the left. The navy lacing is intact as is the navy belt. The uniform set is completed by a pair of size 10-13 white sanitary socks and the Patriots’ white and navy striped stockings. Two white strip tags with “BRADY vs. MIAMI 12/04 road” and “12-04 vs. MIAMI MNF road” are sewn in the pants and jersey. The uniform set shows good use overall, with many turf and contact scuffs throughout, as well as loose threads – a true gamer. This jersey comes with a LOA from MeiGray (155242), who have photo matched this jersey to the December 5th game in Cleveland and the December 20th game in Miami.
