Although he was a solid Major League baseball player during the summer months, Deion Sanders achieved stardom for his achievements on the NFL gridiron. During his NFL career, Sanders was and 8-time Pro Bowl selection, 8-time First-Team All-Pro, member of the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team, 2-Time Super Bowl Champion and 1994 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Sanders wore this Baltimore Ravens jersey during the 2005 season. It was Sanders’ last season in any pro sport, and ‘Prime Time’ made the most of it. Sanders played in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded two interceptions and deflected five passes from the cornerback and strong safety positions.
As per the NFL Auction LOA that accompanies this item, this UN-WASHED (rare for a Sanders jersey) black jersey was worn against in the Ravens 48-3 route of the Green bay Packers on December 19th. The Ravens held Brett Favre to 144 yards and two interceptions before Aaron Rodgers replaced Favre late in the third quarter. Sanders made one of the interceptions while wearing this jersey and it was the 53rd interception of Sanders’ illustrious career. This jersey has also been photo matched to the September 11, 2005 game as well.
Sanders’ number “37” sewn on the front, back, and shoulders in white, gold, and purple tackle twill. “SANDERS” is sewn across the back of the jersey in white tackle twill on a black nameplate. Ravens logo patches are sewn on each sleeve below a white Reebok logo. “RAVENS” is sewn on the chest in white tackle twill, while a Ravens ten season anniversary patch is sewn on the left breast. A “04-46” tag is sewn on the back inside collar, although the NFL/PSA/DNA sticker partially obscures the tag. A Reebok tag with an attached “46” flag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Sanders signed the “7” on the front in black marker. He also signed the back “7”, adding the inscription “Psalm 37.4” below his signature. This jersey is accompanied by a COA from NFL Auction - PSA/DNA (1N19708) for game use, a LOA from JSA for the signature and a LOA from Resolution Photomatching, which photo matched this jersey to the September 11, 2005 game. Simply one of the nicest Deion Sanders jerseys to surface in the secondary market.
