The original Yankee Stadium saw its last game ever played on September 21st, 2008 when the Yankees hosted the Baltimore Orioles. The historic venue, dubbed “The House That Ruth Built” originally opened on April 18th, 1923, was completely renovated following the 1973 season and re-opened for the start of the 1976 season. 26 of the 27 World Series titles were won by the Yankees while occupying the old Yankee Stadium, along with 39 American League pennants.

Offered here is uniform (jersey and pants) worn by Alex Rodriguez during the final home game of the 2008 season and the final game ever at the old Yankee Stadium. This home white Majestic pinstriped button-down jersey features the famous interlocking “NY” sewn on in navy tackle twill on the upper left chest. The Majestic tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail with two flags that read “+1” body” and one that is completely faded. AROD’s number “13” is sewn on the back in navy tackle twill and the MLB logo patch is sewn on the upper back neck. The right sleeve has the “2008 ALL-STAR GAME” patch, while the left sleeve has the “1923-2008 YANKEE STADIUM” patch. The left sleeve has a memorial black armband in memory of former Yankee player and broadcaster Bobby Murcer. This jersey displays moderate game use and Rodriguez has signed his name in black marker below his number on the back of the jersey and inscribed “Game Used 9/21/08 Final Game At Yankee Stadium”. This jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (LH167097) for the game use and has authenticated that Rodriguez wore this jersey on September 21st for the final home game at Yankee Stadium. There is also a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A07982) for Rodriguez’s signature.

Also included are these heavily game used pinstriped pants. These Majestic pants have the team tag sewn on the inside waist band that reads “13 Rodriguez 35-40 34 C 08”. The pants are heavily covered in dirt and there are pieces of wrapped gum in one of the back pockets. Rodriguez has signed these pants in black marker on the front left leg and inscribed “Game Used 9/21/08 Final Game At Yankee Stadium”. These pants come with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A07981).
