The evening of September 21, 2008 was a bittersweet night for fans of the New York Yankees, as the Bronx Bombers played their final game at the original Yankees Stadium in the Bronx. Out of contention for the 2008 post-season, the Yankees went out winners with a 7-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez wore this offered navy Yankees batting helmet in this game, and other games in the 2008 season. He went 0-for-2, but drew two walks, in the Yankees win that night, but finished the season with a .302 batting average as he collected 154 hits, 33 doubles, 35 home runs and 103 RBI, winning his 10th and final Silver Slugger Award.

This historic batting helmet is a size 7 ¼, with the Yankees iconic interlocking “NY” logo applied to the front of the helmet in white. Rodriguez’s number “13” is applied to the brim and the back of the helmet in white, while an MLB logo decal is also applied to the back of the helmet. The ear flap is present over the left ear and all the interior padding is intact. There are mild scratches along the top left side of the helmet. Rodriguez has signed the left side of this helmet in silver marker, inscribing “game used 2008 and final game 9/21/08 Yankee Stadium” in addition to his signature. This batting helmet comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH167100) for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
