In the summer of the 2008 Major League Baseball season, the clubs began to wear commemorative caps celebrating the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Offered here is an Alex Rodriguez signed and inscribed, game-used New York Yankees 2008 Independence Day Weekend baseball cap. The navy-blue cap features the historic Yankees interlocking “NY” logo embroidered on the front in white with white stars in the left side and red stripes in the right side. A red, white and blue MLB logo with stars and stipe backgrounds is embroidered on the back.

The former New York Yankees third baseman has signed his name in silver marker on the bill of the cap and inscribed “Game Used 2008” beneath his signature.  Rodriguez’s number “13” is inscribed in silver marker on the underside of the bill. In the 2008 season, Rodriguez finished with a .302 batting average.  He collected 154 hits, 33 doubles, 35 home runs and 103 RBI, winning his 10th and final Silver Slugger Award. This cap comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH261150), which dates Rodriguez’s signature and inscription to January 23, 2009, and a second on the underside (LH227043) which lists this hat as team issued, a common designation for game used items collected by MLB after the season.
