On July 6, 2008 Alex Rodriguez’ name sat at number 15 on the all-time career home run leader list. Above him were names like Ruth, Aaron, Mays and number 14 on the list - Mickey Mantle. Facing Boston’s Tim Wakefield in the second inning, A-Rod hit his career homer 536 and tied The Mick. This is the bat he used to hit that day to make history.
This Louisville Slugger is un-cracked and shows excellent use. The barrel shows many ball marks with stitch impressions. There are scuff marks from contact with other bats and the lower handle has a light coat of pine tar. A-Rod has signed the barrel in silver pen. Beneath his signature he has marked the occasion by inscribing “Game Used 2008 Career HR #536 vs Boston July 6th Tying Mickey Mantle”. A true artifact indelibly linked to the pursuit of sports’ greatest record. This game used and signed bat comes with letters of authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B01217) and sticker only from JSA (B85110).
