Yankee Stadium – in its last season in existence – hosted the 2008 Major League Baseball All-Star Game…. and what a game it was! The American League beat the National League, 4-3, in 15 innings, tying the record for the longest game by innings (also done in 1967). Played in 4 hours and 50 minutes, this was also the longest game, by length of time, in All-Star Game history. J.D. Drew (who went 2-for-4, with two RBIs, a home run and a walk) won the game’s MVP Award.

Offered here is Jim Leyland’s 2008 All-Star Game American League ring. Leyland, then the manager of the Detroit Tigers, served as a coach for the AL squad. The ring’s face prominently displays a large blue stone that is surrounded by smaller CZs. Around the perimeter appears “ALL STAR GAME 2008” along with the MLB logo and a single star. The left shank features an image of the Yankee Stadium facade as part of the 2008 All-Star Game logo and the letters “NYC”. On the other side of the band is the American League logo. Inside the band is marked “STERL”. Approximate size of this ring is 10 ½ with the weight approximately 29.2 grams. This item comes with a Leyland LOA.
