The 2008 season was one in a long list of standout years for Derek Jeter. The Yankees’ iconic shortstop, who retired after the 2014 season and is a sure-fire bet for induction into the Hall of Fame, posted a .300 batting average with 11 homers and 69 RBI on his way to a third consecutive Silver Slugger award during the campaign.
Jeter used this Louisville Slugger P72 model bat during the 2008 season. This bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. The handle has been covered by an Easton rubber overlapping grip that runs approximately eight inches from the knob. Jeter signed his name in silver marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports signed by Jeter authenticating this bat’s use by Jeter during the 2008 season along with a corresponding COA. There is also an additional COA from Steiner Sports for Jeter’s signature.
