The 2010 season saw Alex Rodriguez starting the year with 583 career home runs as he was well on pace to reach the ultra-exclusive 600 Home Run Club, which at the time only included (Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey, Jr. and Sammy Sosa). With the scored tied at one apiece in the top of the third inning during the July 6th, 2010 game between the Yankees and the Oakland Athletics, Alex Rodriguez stepped up to the plate with the bases full of Yankees. Rodriguez, with the count in his favor at 3-1, connected on a deep shot to left center field, clearing the wall by a healthy margin for his 596th career home run and 13th home run of the season. It also was the third grand slam of the 2010 season and 21st career grand slam of his storied career.

This is the very bat that Alex Rodriguez used to hit his 596th career home run and 21st career grand slam. This Louisville Slugger C271L model bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions and chipped wood present on the barrel. Additional marks on the barrel also include cleat imprints. The lower handle has a light coating of Mota Stick. The knob end has stamped “7/24/2009” and “34/32oz” indicating the date of manufacture, length and weight.

Already a tremendous gamer, Alex Rodriguez has signed and inscribed this bat in silver marker on the barrel. A-Rod inscribed “Career Homerun #596 7/6/10 vs. Oakland Grand Slam”. This bat comes with a LOA from Alex Rodriguez himself, with an “Alex Rodriguez 13” hologram affixed to the barrel and the LOA. There is also a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature and inscriptions. A wonderful opportunity to own not only a home run bat from A-Rod, but a grand slam bat!
