From July 6, 2010 to July 22, 2010, New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was on a tear, hitting four home runs on the brink to 600 career home runs.  AROD hit career homers 596 and 597 on July 6th at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in a 6-1 Yankees victory over the Athletics. Both four-baggers came off A’s pitcher Trevor Cahill, with A-Rod slugging number 596, a grand slam, in the top of the third inning with two outs, to left field. His second homer of the game came in the sixth inning with no one on and one out, to center field.

Career home run 598 came on July 18th when the slugger led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a fly ball to left center on the first pitch of the inning from Tampa pitcher Andy Sonnanstine at Yankee Stadium. Rodriguez hit career home run #599 to right on July 22nd against the Kansas City Royals at Yankees Stadium, off K.C. pitcher Rob Tejada in the seventh inning with no one on base and one out.

Rodriguez was wearing these cleats for all four home runs. These offered Nike Shox cleats are black, with a white Nike swoosh applied to both sides of each cleat, Rodriguez’s personal logo embroidered on the back of each cleat in white and the number “13” embroidered in white on each tongue. Nine metal spikes are located on the sole of each cleat. These shoes are covered in dirt stains from use during Rodriguez’s games en route to number 599. He has signed the toe of each shoe in silver marker, inscribing “HR#596 to #599” on each shoe. At the conclusion of his 22-year Major League Baseball career in 2016, Rodriguez retired with 696 career home runs, fourth all-time behind Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755) and Babe Ruth (714). This pair of cleats comes with a signed LOA from Rodriguez.
