Offered in this lot is a game used Wilson football from Cam Newton’s first NFL game, a clash between the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals on September 11th, 2011 at University of Phoenix Stadium. Newton, the first overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft, passed for 422 yards and a pair of touchdowns in this 28-21 loss to the Cardinals, adding a one-yard touchdown dive in the third quarter for his first career rushing touchdown. Newton’s two passing touchdowns went to the incendiary wideout Steve Smith on plays of 77 and 26 yards, while Patrick Peterson’s 89-yard punt return in the fourth quarter gave the home team their margin of victory. This offered Wilson “The Duke” football is decorated with a September 11th memorial ribbon and a “2” is handwritten on the laces. The ball is also stamped with a “K”.
