Alex Rodriguez made history on June 12th, 2012 when he blasted his 23rd career grand slam off Atlanta Braves pitcher Jonny Venters at Turner Field in Atlanta tying him with Lou Gehrig and the all-time grand slam list. Rodriguez’s 10th home run of the season and 639th of his career, also tied the game at four apiece as the Braves had built a 4-0 lead through the first seven innings. The Yankees would add two more runs in the eighth inning to beat Atlanta 6-4.

This is the very bat that Alex Rodriguez used to tie the immortal Lou Gehrig on the all-time grand slam list at 23. This This Louisville Slugger C271L model bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, white leather scuff marks and cleat imprints present throughout the barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the lower handle to enhance the grip and the bat’s manufacture date “1/27/2010” and length/weight “34.0/31.5” have been stamped on the knob. Rodriguez has signed this bat in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “6-12-12 Career Grand Slam Tying Lou Gehrig #23”. This bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ619197), authenticating use of this bat by Rodriguez on June 12th, 2012 when he tied Lou Gehrig for his 23rd career grand slam. Additionally, there is a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez.
