After starring at James Madison University, Maryland-born D.J. Bryant signed with the Houston Texans in the spring of 2012, then bounced around with the Bucs, Colts and Jets before luckily landing on the practice squad of his hometown team the Ravens in December of their championship season. Bryant's 10K-white-gold, size 11.5 ring—identical to those of John Harbaugh, Ray Lewis and Joe Flacco—is one of the flashiest showpieces produced for any pro sport, with 245 diamonds (3.75 carats) plus purple amethyst, yellow gold and red enamel. Indeed, an accompanying 2013 Jostens COA gives an "Estimated Insurance Replacement Value" of the raw materials alone at over $23,000! The jaw-dropping, extremely sizable, glittering dazzler rates Near Mint and, even beyond its elaborate shank designs, delivers additional season information and imagery engraved inside the band. A 5" x 6" x 4" sleek black presentation box features a recessed Ravens logo on the lid's top, along with a frosted-mirror design of the Ravens shield and "DJ BRYANT" on the lid's underside. As a point of reference on value, it's important to note that we have previously auctioned the 2012 Ravens Super Bowl rings of running backs Damien Berry and Jamal Lewis for $43,000 and $50,000 respectively.
