New York Yankees legendary shortstop Derek Jeter wore this New York Yankees road jersey to open the 2012 season, a 6 game road trip to Tampa Bay and Baltimore. He produced 10 total hits during the 6 games, including Home Run #1 of the season, 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. Jeter also had a 4 for 4 game mixed in on April 9th, during a 6-2 Yankee victory over the Orioles. The 2012 season was one in which Jeter led all of Major League Baseball in total hits, finishing with 216, the last 200+ hit season of his career. The level of production on this jersey helps separate it from the rest, with a home run being the true finishing touch.
The 38 year old Jeter was a key piece to the Yankees successful season, as “The Captain” led the American League in hits and was named to the 13th of his 14 career All-Star Games. A .316 hitter in 2012, Jeter claimed the American League Silver Slugger award for the shortstop position.
This gray button down Yankees road jersey features “NEW YORK” sewn across the front in navy blue and white tackle twill. Jeter’s now-retired number “2” is sewn on the back in navy blue and white tackle twill below a navy and gray MLB logo. The sleeves of this jersey are ringed with a navy and white band. A Majestic Authentic Collection tag is sewn on the front left tail of this jersey with “2012” and size “48” flags attached. This jersey shows excellent game use and Jeter signed his name on the “2” digit in silver marker. A great Derek Jeter game used jersey that comes with a LOA and COA from Steiner Sports referencing the jersey being used from April the 6th thru April 11th on the opening road trip and a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ 529833) which dates the jersey to being pulled after the April 11th game.
