Former Detroit Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer won the American League Cy Young Award in 2013, compiling a 21-3 record, a 2.90 ERA and leading the Tigers to the ALCS. Scherzer wore this size 48 Majestic Cool Base button-down road jersey during three of his four postseason starts during Detroit’s 2014 postseason run.
This jersey features “Detroit” sewn on and scripted across the chest in navy blue, orange and white tackle twill. Scherzer’s number “37” is in the left chest in the same color pattern. On the back of the jersey “SCHERZER” and his “37” are sewn directly to the jersey in the same navy blue, orange and white pattern. Navy blue piping surrounds the collar and runs down each side of the buttons and this jersey has a “2013 POSTSEASON” patch sewn on the right sleeve. A MLB logo patch in Tigers colors is sewn on the upper back collar and the Majestic manufacturer’s tag is screen-printed on the bottom front tail, along with a white 1 x 3 inch Tigers team patch that reads “37 48 ’13 456”. The jersey shows moderate game use with minor stains on the front and a couple of loose threads on the numbers and letters on the back. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
