In order to see just how dominant of a player Detroit Tiger third baseman Miguel Cabrera is, look no further than his back-to-back American League MVP campaigns from the 2012 and 2013 seasons. This Cabrera game-used Detroit Tigers batting helmet comes from a 2013 season that saw the slugger bat .348 with 44 home runs and 137 RBI. The authentic navy blue “Rawlings” helmet with a raised orange Detroit “D” logo on the front shows moderate signs of game use, including a smattering of pine tar on the top and several scuffs and scrapes. The inside of the padded helmet features a “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag, “MLB Authentic ON FIELD EQUIPMENT” tag, a size “7 5/8” sticker and a “JSG” inscription in silver sharpie, penned by Tigers clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel verifying the item was indeed worn by Cabrera. A “RAWLINGS S100 PRO GAME” impression is found on the rear pad inside the helmet. Cabrera’s number “24” decal appears on the outside back of the helmet just above and MLB logo decal. The game-used Cabrera helmet is verified under the MLB Authentication program, number “EK862415.”
