This batting helmet with right ear flap was game used by New York Mets starting pitcher Zack Wheeler during his rookie season of 2013. The Rawlings helmet displays moderate to heavy game wear with the outer surface of the helmet covered with scratches and dings. The interior has all appropriate padding in place, and also shows moderate wear. “738” is handwritten in large silver numbers inside. Wheeler’s #45 is stuck to the back center of the helmet, directly above the MLB logo. The helmet is tagged with MLB Authentication Hologram (EK 789818).
