Alex Rodriguez continued his inexorable climb up the all-time home run list with his 660th career blast on May 1st, 2015 against the Boston Red Sox in a 3-2 New York victory at Fenway Park. Rodriguez stepped up to the dish in the eighth inning with the score tied at two apiece, pinch hitting for designated hitter Garrett Jones against Boston reliever Junichi Tazawa. After massaging the count to a favorable 3-0, Rodriguez lashed a line drive home run over the Green Monster, putting the Yankees up for good and tying the three-time Most Valuable Player with Willie Mays on the all-time home run leaderboard.

The home run was Rodriguez’s sixth of his 2015 season. Rodriguez finished the year with 33 longballs, his most in a season since 2009, as the former first overall draft pick made his way to a final career total of 696 home runs. “A-Rod” added 86 RBI and 83 runs scored in his penultimate MLB season, driving the Yankees to an 87-win season and a postseason appearance.

Offered in this lot is Rodriguez’s button-down, gray Yankees road jersey worn for his milestone home run. The jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in navy and white tackle twill, while Rodriguez’s number “13” is sewn on the back of the jersey, also in navy and white tackle twill. An MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar and a Majestic size “48” tag is applied to the front left tail above a Yankees barcode tag that reads “0000005493”. Rodriguez has signed the “1” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker. On the “3” digit, Rodriguez inscribed “Game Used May 1st 2015”, “HR 660”, and “Tie Willie Mays”. This jersey comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ871521), a COA from PSA/DNA (AB16536), and a Steiner LOA (222067).
