David Ortiz finished his outstanding career in 2016 leading the Boston Red Sox to the American Least Eastern Division. His 541 career home runs have him at number 17 on the all-time home runs list. His 38 round-trippers during the 2016 set the record for oldest player to hit that total.

      This special pink Mother’s Day Marucci bat was used by Ortiz during the May 8, 2016 game at Yankee Stadium in which the Red Sox defeated the Yankees 5-1. Ortiz finished the day going 2-4 with a home run during the Red Sox victory. The home run Oritz hit was off of Yankees pitcher Luis Severino in the top of the 7th inning and it was his 512th career home run passing Hall of Famer Mel Ott on the all-time list. This pink bat shows excellent use with some ball marks on the barrel and is un-cracked. That bat has a high-gloss finish and a small coat of pine tar is between the handle and the barrel with the handle being taped with pink and gray colored “Lizard Skin”. Ortiz’s number “34” is stamped in black on the knob and barrel has a cupped end and “Handcrafted for David Ortiz Papi34 Custom Cut III – LDM” is stamped on the barrel.

      Ortiz signed his name in bold black marker on the barrel and added the following inscriptions: “2016 Game Used”, “Big Papi”, “34”, “Passed Mel Ott HR #512” and “2nd All Time Red Sox”. This historic bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 803318) which dates this bat to the May 8th game and the home run he hit off of Luis Severino, along with his signature. There is also a hologram from Fanatics (ZZ0004806) that authenticates both his signature and the inscriptions.
