In 2016, sharp-shooting point guard Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to 73-9 regular season record, the best mark in NBA history. Curry averaged an NBA-best 30.1 points per game on his way to the only unanimous MVP selection in NBA history. Curry took the Warriors to their second consecutive NBA Finals matchup against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hampered by a knee injury suffered in an earlier round of the playoffs, Curry nevertheless averaged a team-high 22.9 points per game during the Finals as the Warriors fell in a heartbreaking seven game series to the Cavaliers. Undaunted by their defeat, the Warriors faced the Cavaliers in a third-straight NBA Finals in 2016-17, with Curry and newcomer Kevin Durant leading a Golden State demolition of Cleveland in five short games.
Curry wore this blue road jersey during the 2016 Finals and this jersey has been photo matched to Games 4 and 6 played in Cleveland. Curry led all scorers in Game 4 with 38 points during the Warriors 108-97 victory, their last in the series. Curry also led the Warriors in scoring in Game 6, dropping 30 as the Warriors lost the Cavaliers 115-101 at Quicken Loans Arena. The front of this blue jersey has a roughly 8-inch diameter Warriors logo patch sewn on the chest, with “GOLDEN STATE” and “WARRIORS” sewn above and beneath it in gold. Curry’s number “30” is sewn in the logo in blue tackle twill. “CURRY” is sewn across the back shoulders in gold tackle twill beneath a NBA Finals patch. Curry’s number “30” is sewn on the back of the jersey in gold mesh on gold tackle twill. A “4x” tag, signifying the Warrior franchise’s four NBA titles, is sewn on the back outside collar of the jersey. The sides of this jersey are accented with two white stripes. An NBA tag and an Adidas size “M” tag, with an attached “Length +2” flag, are sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Curry has signed the back of the jersey in silver marker, inscribing “2016 Finals Game Used” beneath his signature.
