New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis wore this blue Icon Edition jersey during the first three games of the 2017-18 NBA season on October 18th, 20th, and 22nd of 2017. Davis first wore this jersey on Opening Night as the Pelicans took on the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum. Davis put up a double-double of 33 points and 18 rebounds while shooting 14 of 17 from the charity stripe in New Orleans’ 103-91 defeat.
Davis’ second game in this jersey came two days later, against the Golden State Warriors at the Smoothie King Center. Although the Pelicans fell 128-120, Davis scored 35 points on 71.4% shooting, including a 3-for-4 night from downtown. The former Kentucky Wildcat added 15 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block in a well-rounded performance. Davis’ final game in this jersey came on October 22nd against his team for the 2019-20 season, the Los Angeles Lakers, at STAPLES Center. Davis led all scorers with 27 points in the Pelicans 119-112 victory, adding 17 rebounds and three each of steals, assists, and blocks.
Davis was selected to both the All-NBA First Team and the All-Defensive First Team in 2017-18, finishing the year with a new career-high in scoring at 28.1 points per game. “The Brow” added 11.1 rebounds and a league-leading 2.6 blocks per game while making his fifth career All-Star Game and leading the Pelicans to the Western Conference Semifinals.
