Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid wore this blue “Icon Edition” Sixers jersey for 14 games during the 2017-18 season. Embiid’s jersey has been photo matched by the game experts at Sports Investors to the road game at the Phoenix Suns on December 31st at home against the San Antonio Spurs on January 3rd, at the Celtics on January 18th, home against Chicago on January 24th, home versus the Washington Wizard on February 6th, home against the Knicks on February 12th and on the road at New York on March 15th, at Miami on February 27th, at Cleveland on March 1st, at the Milwaukee Bucks on March 4th, 2018, at the Charlotte Hornets on March 6th and home on March 19th, 2018, home against the Indiana Pacers on March 13th, and home versus Memphis on March 21st, 2018. Embiid combined for 309 points, 144 rebounds, 53 assists and 26 blocked shots in these 14 games.

Embiid, a seven-foot rimrunner with the agility of a guard, starred for the 76ers during these late-season contests. Embiids achieved his first career 20/20 game, recording 25 points and 20 rebounds to go with two assists and three blocks in the Sixers 108-94 against the Charlotte Hornets at the Wells Fargo Center on March 19th. The 2017-18 All-Star shot four of six from beyond the three-point arc, all while wearing this blue jersey.

Against Milwaukee, Embiid dropped 19 points on only 12 shots, adding eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in a close 118-110 loss to the Bucks at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The Sixers bounced back two days later against the Hornets in Charlotte, earning a comfortable 128-114 victory behind Embiid’s 18 points, five boards, and four assists. A week later Embiid wore this jersey once again, during the Sixers 101-98 home defeat against the Indiana Pacers. Embiid’s effort in this matchup of playoff teams was herculean, with the Cameroonian import putting up 29 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. This was the Sixers final loss of the regular season before the team embarked on a 16-game winning streak to close out the year.

Embiid led the Sixers to their first playoff appearance since the 2011-12 season in 2017-18, easing past the Miami Heat in a five-game series to open the playoffs before falling to Brad Stevens and the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semi Finals. Embiid, the third overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, averaged a double-double of 22.9 points and 11 rebounds in only 30 minutes per contest in 20117-18, thrilling Sixers fans who waited two seasons for Embiid to make his NBA debut. Embiid made the All-NBA and All-NBA Defensive Second Teams at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
