Major League Baseball players gave their own spin to their uniforms during the second annual Players Weekend, from August 24-26th in 2018 an occasion created last season to celebrate the passion for the game that all ballplayers, young and old, have in common. These games allow the players to thank those who were important in their lives while showcasing their personality in a fun way that fits baseball's focus." Players relish in the opportunity to have a nickname placed on the back of the jerseys, as well as to wear and use uniquely colored and designed spikes, batting gloves, wristbands, and other equipment.

On August 26, 2018, the Houston Astros were at the Los Angeles Angels. In the bottom of the first, Angels sensation and 3-time AL MVP Mike Trout was facing Astros starter Framber Valdez. With the count 2 balls, no strikes, Trout hit a broken-bat grounder to shortstop Carlos Correa who relayed to first baseman Yuli Gurriel for the out. The bat was removed on the final day of players weekend that's why it was given a MLB holo since it was removed from play. It is possible the bat was used the previous 2 days, and on 8/25/18 he went 2-4 (2 base hits) off Verlander. The Old Hickory MT 27* model bat shows awesome game use with a handle crack. The barrel has many ball marks with white leather ball scuffs and ink transfers while the handle has a heavy coat of pine tar. The lower handle has been taped to enhance the grip and the Angels star has signed the barrel in contrasting silver marker with “18 G/U.” This bat comes with MLB Authenticated hologram (JD163555) for the game use and a LOA from Anderson Authentics (3754) for the game use and signature. This bat has also been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to the August 26th, 2018 game and have provided a LOA (426044).
