This offered Official American League Gene A. Budig baseball was hit by Alex Rodriguez in the early stages of his 22-year big league career. On May 17, 1997, A-Rod was at home in Seattle facing Orioles starter Jimmy Key. In the bottom of the 1st, Rodriguez hit this ball from a Mussina pitch out of the Kingdome for the 7th home run of the 1997 season and the 48th of his eventual 696 career shots. This ball displays outstanding game use with staining and abrasions. Rodriguez has signed this ball in blue pen across the sweet spot and inscribed “HR #7 1997” on the panel below his signature. This baseball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (S74788) for A-Rod’s signature and inscription.
