Presented here for your bidding pleasure is a baseball that was used in play during the Bambino's appearance with the Yankees in Toledo, Ohio playing against Casey Stengel's Toledo Mud Hens as part of compensation for the Rosy Ryan deal between the two teams in 1928. By that time, the Yankees were an established powerhouse, with Ruth elevating the team to new heights, helping capture the prestige that goes along with wearing pinstripes today. 1927 and 1928 are considered by many to be the absolute peak of Ruth's career. Offered here is a highly desirable game used Official League American Association T.J. Hickey baseball signed on the sweet spot in bold black fountain pen. "Babe Ruth" between the vibrant blue and red stitching. This baseball comes with a full LOA JSA for the signature and a letter of provenance from Patrick Cowles, who states that this ball "was obtained in person by our family during one of the two visits the New York Yankees made to Toledo, Ohio as part of compensation for the Rosy Ryan deal."
