For over ten seasons as an outfielder for the New York Yankees, Charlie Keller menaced American League pitching. He slugged 30+ home runs three times, and walked 100+ times in five different seasons. This 7” x 9” original black and white wire photo shows Keller’s posed left handed swing in a photo session before the 1941 World Series. This is the series which Keller was a key contributor, including the go-ahead two-run double to give the Yankees the lead in the infamous 9th inning Game 4 Mickey Owen dropped third-strike game. Keller signed the photo in blue ink along the leg. The front of the photo has the usual light crinkles, while the reverse has the UPI Photo Stamp and the original paper caption, dated 9/10/41. This is a tremendous signed item from one of the unsung Yankee heroes of those great DiMaggio era teams. COA from PSA/DNA, cert number U69531.
