Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals star pitcher Lon Warneke wore this Rawlings glove during his MLB career. Warneke made his MLB debut in 1930 for the Cubs and was one of baseball’s most consistent pitchers during that decade. Warneke led the National League with 22 wins and a 2.37 ERA in 1932, and in 1933 he was a member of the inaugural National League All-Star team. The “Arkansas Hummingbird” won 192 games and made five All-Star teams during his 15-season career, winning 20 games in a season three times and pitching in the 1932 and 1935 World Series with the Cubs. Warneke threw the 111th no-hitter in baseball history while pitching for the Cardinals in 1941, blanking the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 at Crosley Field on August 30th.

This offered Rawlings glove was worn by the right-handed Warneke circa 1930-35. A Rawlings button is located on the wrist, however the wrist strap is no longer present. The welting on the fingers is also no longer present on the glove. Period writing is present on the thumb slot. This historic glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00568) and a LOA from the Warneke family for the game use.
