Offered here is a beautifully designed and decorated ornate silver music box that dates back circa early 1900s. It features the classic song written by Jack Norworth and Alvert Von Tilzer, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" which was a 1908 song that became a staple at baseball games to this day across the country and sung during the “7th Inning Stretch”. This figural music box is made of ornate silver and features an extremely rare early 1900’s design pattern that has a baseball that opens up and plays “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” – music only, which is still in fine working order.

The silver baseball is attached to a diamond-shaped base which is finely decorated with a floral design. Adding to the theme, the ball has two bats that are crisscrossed with one bat on top of the other. Included is a small two-page booklet called “Fred Limbalist * A FAMOUS NAME IN THE MUSIC WORLD * Presents BEAUTIFUL SWISS MUSIC BOXES”. The attention to detail on this engraved item is stunning and this music box displays only minor tarnishing. The underneath base has a blue velvet covering that is slightly frayed. A wonderful piece of baseball history that dates back to the early 20th century.
