The New York Yankees are the most successful professional sports team in the United States.  The “Bronx Bombers” have won 19 American League East Division titles, 40 American League pennants, and 27 World Series championships, all of which are Major League Baseball records. But it is those 27 World Series titles that truly cement the franchise’s foundation as tops in the four major U.S. pro sports leagues.

There has been a total of 115 World Series contest, and the American League champ has won 66, the National League champion winning 49.  First played in 1903, the Fall Classic has been played every year since with two exceptions – in 1904, when the NL champion New York Giants declined to play the AL champ Boston Americans, and in 1994, when the series was canceled due to the players’ strike. The New York Yankees have played in 40 World Series through the 2019 season, winning 27 of them, with the first in 1923 and the most recent in 2009.

Presented is a complete run of 27 New York Yankees World Series Championship clinching game tickets; of the 27, 26 are authenticated, encapsulated and graded by PSA. The first item in this collection is a ticket stub from the Polo Grounds for Game 6 of the 1923 World Series, won by the Yankees 6-4 over their crosstown rival New York Giants on October 15, 1923. Babe Ruth hit his fourth World Series homer in this game, which was the first World Series title for the Yankees. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (25661450) and is graded authentic. The second item in this collection is a ticket stub from Yankee Stadium for Game 4 of the 1927 World Series, a 4-3 Yankees win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on October 8, 1927.  Babe Ruth led the legendary “Murderer’s Row” with his 10th World Series home run in this game en route to the second-ever Yankees World Series championship. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (23267841) and is graded authentic. The third item in this collection is a ticket stub from Sportsman’s Park for Game 4 of the 1928 World Series, played on October 9, 1928 and won by the New York Yankees, 7-3 over the St. Louis Cardinals. Babe Ruth hit World Series home runs 11, 12 and 13 in this game. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (43763475) and is graded authentic.

The fourth item in this collection is a ticket stub from Wrigley Field and Game 4 of the 1932 World Series, played October 2, 1932 and won by the New York Yankees, 13-8 over the Chicago Cubs. This was Babe Ruth’s final World Series game. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (43763477) and is graded authentic. The fifth item in this collection is a ticket stub from the Polo Grounds and Game 6 of the 1936 World Series, played October 6, 1936, when the New York Yankees beat the New York Giants, 13-5 for their fifth World Series title. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (41841279) and is graded authentic. The sixth item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 5 of the 1937 World Series, played at the Polo Grounds in New York. The New York Yankees beat the New York Giants, 4-2 for their sixth title. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (41841280) and is graded authentic.

The seventh item in this collection is a ticket stub from the 1938 World Series Game 4, played October 9, 1938 at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees beat the Cubs, 8-3, in what would be Lou Gehrig’s final World Series game. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (41841281) and is graded authentic. The eighth item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 4 of the 1939 World Series played October 8, 1939 at Crosley Field in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Yankees beat the Reds, 7-4, in 10 innings. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (41841282) and is graded authentic. The ninth item in this collection is a ticket stub from Ebbets Field and Game 5 of the 1941 World Series, won by the New York Yankees, 3-1 over the Brooklyn Dodgers on October 6, 1941. The 10th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis, and Game 5 of the 1943 World Series, a 2-0 New York Yankees win over the Cardinals on October 11, 1943. The 11th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Yankee Stadium and Game 7 of the 1947 World Series, played October 6, 1947. The New York Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 5-2 for their 11th World Series title. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (23204699) and is graded authentic. The 12th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 5 of the 1949 World Series, played October 9, 1949 at Ebbets Field. The New York Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 10-6, as Joe DiMaggio hit his sixth World Series home run and the Yankees captured their 12th World Series trophy. The 13th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 4 of the 1950 World Series, in which the New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-2, on October 7, 1950 at Yankee Stadium. The 14th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 6 of the 1951 World Series, won by the New York Yankees, 4-3, over the New York Giants at Yankee Stadium on October 10, 1950. This was Joe DiMaggio’s final World Series game. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (27282693) and is graded authentic. The 15th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 7 of the 1952 World Series, played October 7, 1952 at Ebbets Field. The New York Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4-2, and Mickey Mantle hit his second World Series homer in this game. The 16th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Yankee Stadium and Game 6 of the 1953 World Series, won by the New York Yankees 4-3 over the Brooklyn Dodgers on October 5, 1953. This was the Yankees fifth World Series title in a row, an unprecedented achievement. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (41841320) and is graded VG 3. The 17th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 7 of the 1956 World Series, won by the New York Yankees, 9-0 over the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field on October 10, 1956. The 18th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Milwaukee County Stadium and Game 7 of the 1958 World Series, played October 9, 1958. The New York Yankees beat the Milwaukee Braves, 6-2 for their 18th World Series Championship. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (24637342) and is graded authentic.

The 19th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Crosley Field in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Game 5 of the 1961 World and Game 7 of the 1962 World Series, played on October 16, 1962. The New York Yankees beat the San Francisco Giants, 1-0. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (43763498) and is graded authentic. The 21st item in this collection is a ticket stub from the 1977 World Series Game 6 at Yankee Stadium, when the New York Yankees broke a long drought by beating the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-4. This was the historic night when Reggie Jackson hit three home runs in a single World Series game, the first player to achieve that feat since Babe Ruth did it in 1926 and 1928. The 24th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California, and Game 4 of the 1998 World Series, played October 21, 1998. The New York Yankees beat the San Diego Padres, 3-0, and captured their 24th World Series Championship.

The 25th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 4 of the 1999 World Series, played October 27, 1999 at Yankee Stadium. The New York Yankees beat the Atlanta Braves, 4-1. This ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (27731808) and is graded EX 5. The 26th item in this collection is a ticket stub from Game 5 of the 2000 World Series, a 4-2 New York Yankees victory over the New York Mets at Shea Stadium on October 26, 2000. The 27th item in this collection is a full ticket from Game 6 of the 2009 World Series played on November 4, 2009 at the new Yankee Stadium, won by the New York Yankees, 7-3 over the Philadelphia Phillies.
