Hall of Famer Derek Jeter became accustomed to winning at a young age. As an eight-year-old in the Oakwood Little League in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jeter led his 1982 Little League team to an undefeated season and the Kalamazoo “Minor League” championship. The pre-teen dynamo earned rave reviews from his coach and teammates, foreshadowing the eventual leadership role Jeter would thrive in as a part of the New York Yankees dynasty.

The centerpiece of this lot is a baseball signed by Jeter and several of his teammates, that the Oakwood Little Leaguers presented to their coach, Don Brown, in recognition of their undefeated season. The young Jeter has deliberately and clearly printed his name in blue pen on the panel to the west of the blue Official League stamp. The signature of a young baseball player named “Steve Lagerberg” and “Ryan McDaniel are below Jeter’s signature on the panel. Don Brown has signed his name on the sweet spot of this ball in blue pen, with “David Larson” to the left and “David Marshall” to the right, both in blue pen. The ball comes with a special holder that fits on a gold glove with a wooden base. This baseball is possibly one of the earliest ever baseballs signed by Jeter, and as such the value of this item cannot be stated. It is a true piece of baseball history that rivals any of Jeter’s memorabilia from his professional career. This baseball comes with a LOA from JSA.
