It is arguably the greatest game ever pitched. On October 8, 1956, Don Larsen threw a perfect game against a powerful Brooklyn Dodgers lineup which featured Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Carl Furillo and Pee Wee Reese. This lot includes five items pertaining to Larsen and/or that tremendous game, two of which have been signed by Larsen. All items are in Excellent condition unless noted. Includes: Ball – off white, single signed OAL Brown ball with “Don Larsen” on sweet spot in blue ink; Ticket Stub – well worn stub from the perfect game, signed “Don Larsen” in blue Sharpie. On the front, the stub also has in ink “Don Larsens no hit Game”. Stub is in PR/FR condition, and appears to be in two pieces; Plate – The Little Jones, Co, Inc commemorative “The Perfect Game” plate by Henberad Corp. Very Good condition with chip along right edge. Mug – commemorative ceramic mug with same image as plate; Plaque – a 13 x 17 inch wooden plaque with a 10-1/4 x 14-1/8 inch gold plate presented to Larsen at Yankee Stadium on August 22, 1981, during the Yankees Old Timers Day game.
