Presented is the signature of U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower on an Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball. The 34th President has signed his name in black pen on the sweet spot of the baseball, which is from the collection of the late Los Angeles/California/Anaheim Angels owner Gene Autry. Eisenhower served two terms as president from 1953 to 1961. During World War II, he was a five-star general in the Army and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe. He was responsible for planning and supervising the invasion of North Africa in Operation Torch in 1942–43 and the successful Invasion of Normandy in 1944–45 from the Western Front. Eisenhower once said that "not making the baseball team at West Point was one of the greatest disappointments of my life, maybe my greatest”. This item comes with a LOA from Gene Autrey’s widow, Jackie Autry, and a full LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A52520).
