Oakland Raiders Hall of Fame center Jim Otto wore this helmet during the early 1970’s. After graduating from the University of Miami, Otto joined the Oakland Raiders, where he spent the entirety of his 15 season AFL/NFL career from 1960 through 1974. Otto began his career wearing the number “50” before transitioning to his iconic “00” for the 1961 season.

Over his 15-year career by the Bay, Otto was named to 12 Pro Bowls and selected to 10 AFL/NFL First Team All-Pro teams. In 1969, Otto was named the starting center on the All-Time AFL Team alongside his Raiders teammates Clem Daniels, Willie Brown, and Dave Grayson. Otto was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980.

This offered Raiders helmet is silver with a black stripe bisecting the crown of the helmet. A Raiders logo is applied to both sides of the Riddell RK2 Suspension Helmet. The chinstrap remains attached to this historic helmet. The facemask is in two parts, with a two-bar facemask covering the jaw and mandible, and a horseshoe-shaped facemask piece covering the forehead. The padding inside the right ear and the padding from the crown of the helmet are included with this helmet, but not attached to the headgear. Otto’s number “00” is applied to the back of the helmet in black numerals. Otto has signed the right side of the black marker, inscribing “’00’ / H.O.F. / 1980 / Gamer” in addition to his signature. This helmet comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AD02912) and a LOA from SGC (AA03232) for Otto’s signature.
