Winter 2020 Catalog Auction Ending Feb 22
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2020
Presented is an Elvis Presley signature and inscription on a post card from “Casey’s Motel” outside Memphis, Tennessee. “The King” has inscribed “To Ida, Love Elvis Presley” in blue pen on the back of the 3½ x 5½-inch color postcard with the legend “Casey’s Motel 20 Minutes from Air Port 1585 S. Bellevue, Highway 51 South in Memphis” over an illustration of the motel on the front. This now closed motel on what is now known as Elvis Presley Boulevard was a popular spot for visitors to Memphis in the 1950s and 1960s during Presley’s peak. Some consider Casey’s Motel as a possible inspiration for Presley’s January 1956 record, “Heartbreak Hotel.” This item has been encapsulated and authenticated by Beckett Authentication and comes with a full LOA, and the signature has been graded NM-MT 8 by Beckett Authentication. Please note that since the catalog was printed, this post card has been removed from the frame and encapsulated by Beckett Authentication.
