Offered is a blue vinyl pennant/flag flown “in memoriam” to the late Chicago Cubs legend, Ernie Banks. A beloved figure in Chicago, Banks was a shortstop and first baseman for the Cubs between 1953 and 1971. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977 and was named to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team in 1999. Banks died January 23, 2015, and the Cubs flew similar “In Memoriam” pennants in his honor over Wrigley Field throughout the 2015 season.
Both sides of the 35 x 72-inch flag have a 16 x 19-inch blue panel sewn in with the number “14” silkscreened in white. The edge of the flag has a 1 ½ -inch white border sewn in, with gold metal grommets at the top and bottom. This flag comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ633966) which dates this flag to the Cincinnati at Chicago game on June 14, 2015 at Wrigley Field.
