Presented is an artifact set prop from the lagoon featured in the 1964-1967 CBS-TV hit “Gilligan’s Island.” The 5½ x 13-inch concrete “rock” is gray stone, with the legend “Gilligan’s Isle” painted in green and black letters on the top. The underside is red and gray steel-reinforced concrete.  All three seasons of the sitcom were filmed in the “lagoon,” on the CBS Studios backlot (adjacent to the Hollywood Freeway).  The show had an ensemble cast that featured Bob Denver, Alan Hale Jr., Jim Backus, Natalie Schafer, Russell Johnson, Tina Louise, and Dawn Wells. The series followed the comic adventures of seven castaways as they attempted to survive on an island on which they had been shipwrecked. Most episodes revolve around the dissimilar castaways' conflicts and their unsuccessful attempts, for whose failure Gilligan was frequently responsible, to escape their plight.  This item comes with a Cox LOA.
