Offered here is an award presented to the late Hall of Famer and Dodgers’ great Pee Wee Reese. This award was presented to Reese by Hillerich & Bradsby and features a Hillerich & Bradsby “Hal” Reese stamped bat that rests upon the 13 x 38-inch wood base. A black and white photo of Reese with Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson, while Anderson is still managing the Reds, is on the upper left corner. A circle “LOUISVILLE SLUGGER AWARD HILLERICH & BRADSBY LOUISVILLE, KY” plate is next to the photo. The bottom right corner has a silver plate that has etched “”PEE WEE” REESE BROOKLYN & LA DODGERS 1940-1958 2,166 GAMES 8,058 AT BATS 2,170 HITS 1,338 RUNS 885 RBI’S 126 HOME RUNS 330 DOUBLES 80 TRIPLES 1210 WALKS 7 WORLD SERIES 8 ALL-STAR GAMES HALL OF FAME 1984 FROM YOUR FRIENDS AT HILLERICH & BRADSBY”. Reese has signed his name on the mounted bat in blue marker on the barrel. Reese’s signature comes with a COA from JSA (HH93929). Also include in this lot is a sepia-toned 12 x 14-inch framed portrait of a young Reese.
