The 1991 NBA Finals marked a momentous occasion where Michael Jordan "Grabbed the Torch" from Magic Johnson.  Before the 1991 Finals, Michael Jordan was thought of as a scoring machine incapable of winning a championship without conforming to the team concept illustrated by the likes of Magic Johnson and the Showtime Lakers.  After game one of the Finals it appeared this trend would continue.  Michael Jordan had other plans.

In game two Michael Jordan, wearing this style of Nike Air Jordan 6 Black Infrared sneakers, produced one of the greatest individual plays embedded in the minds of sports fans everywhere.  Avoiding Sam Perkins' block of his dunk, Jordan switched the ball in midair from his right to left hand, and finished with the most famous lay-up in NBA history.  The Bulls went on to defeat the Lakers 4-1 ushering in the Bulls dynasty.  Michael Jordan won his first NBA Championship and his first NBA Finals MVP.  These shoes were right there on the court at the inception of the Bulls’ dynasty that produced two 3-Peats and six Finals’ MVP’s for Michael Jordan.

These Nike Air Jordan 6 (VI) shoes show nice wear with expected light scuffs and abrasions picked up from court use.  They possess the original lace locks, a rare component that helped elevate the popularity of the legendary Jordan 6s.  As expected this phenomenal pair possesses the proper coding for Michael Jordan gamer shoes of "0112" on the inner tags, well known among astute Jordan enthusiasts.  The midsoles have been professionally restored, and these Jordan gamers will display exceptionally as a keystone of any collection, whether it be in a man cave or the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame!

This pair of historic footwear originated from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which auctioned them to raise funds for the San Diego Chapter in August of 1991.  Included are LOAs from The National Multiple Sclerosis Society attesting to the use of these sneakers in the 1991 NBA Finals and a full LOA from JSA (Y93587) for the dual vintage signatures Michael Jordan penned in silver beautifully contrasting these black sneakers.
