In 1938, the young ambitious billionaire Howard Hughes would embark on a death-laden unknown flight around the world. Hughes and four crew members girdled the earth in three days, 19 hours, 14 minutes and 10 seconds, breaking the record at the time held by another famous aviator, Wiley Post. With their plane promptly named Overladen, the boys would land to 25,000 spectators who were in awe with the new achievement. Offered here is an ULTRA-RARE 8 x 10 inch original photograph by Rudy Arnold, of Howard Hughes and his crew minutes prior to taking Overladen to the skies on their historic journey. Signed by Howard Hughes with a dark and bold autograph, along with fellow crew member and radio engineer Dick Stoddart. Overall in fine condition with minor surface impressions, light creasing and penciled identifications above the other subjects' images, which do not detract from the overall presentation. One of the rarest mediums and most desirable images for the famed Howard Hughes, don't let this one fly by! This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA.
