Presented is a Hugh Hefner signature on an 8 x 10-inch color publicity photograph of the creator of Playboy magazine. Hefner has signed his name in purple marker at the bottom center of the photo, which depicts the publisher and editor seated at a piano, leaning forward on a movie reel on his right knee with musical instruments and other film reels in the background. The back of the photo has the inscription in black pen “2/6/99”. Hefner was the founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine. The first issue of Playboy was published in 1953 featuring Marilyn Monroe in a nude calendar shoot; it sold over 50,000 copies.
