James Naismith, the founder of basketball, has signed his name on this envelope cut. The cut appears to be from an envelope with the left corner remaining and has printed “The National Collegiate Athletic Association Basket Ball Rules Committee”. Naismith signed his name below the print in black pen, scratching out the “The National Collegiate Athletic Association” print and adding a Paris (France) address. This cut has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (K75544).

Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium (28% if payment is made using a credit card and/or is not paid within 10 days of invoice). Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price to The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
