Presented is a Joe DiMaggio signed and inscribed photo to his friend Sharon Halper in a framed display. DiMaggio nicknamed "Joltin' Joe" and "The Yankee Clipper", played his entire 13-year career in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. Born to Italian immigrants in California, he is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time and is perhaps best known for his 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941), a record that still stands.DiMaggio has signed his name in blue marker on the 6½ x 9-inch black and white photo of him with Halper in a kitchen where she is putting a spoon of sauce up to his lips. DiMaggio has inscribed “Sharon – What ever you serve is good!”, also in blue marker.

Above the photo is a 10x14-inch color certificate from “Giuliano Buglialli’s Cooking in Florence” noting that “Sharon Halper” completed a course in “Italian Tradition I” from July 2 to July 9, 1989, signed in red ink by “Giuliano Bugialli.” The certificate and the photo are mounted in a tan paper matte and displayed in an 18 ½ x 21 ½ silver wood frame. DiMaggio was a three-time Most Valuable Player Award winner and an All-Star in each of his 13 seasons. During his tenure with the Yankees, the club won ten American League pennants and nine World Series championships. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
