Offered are the signatures of Hall of Fame legend Joe DiMaggio and renowned sports artist Leroy Neiman, on a limited-edition artists proof serigraph of the “Yankee Clipper” at bat in his New York Yankees heyday. DiMaggio has signed his name in gray graphite in the lower left corner of the print, while Neiman has signed his name in gray graphite in the lower right corner. The print is inscribed “A.P. 55/90” in gray graphite in the bottom center of the print. “The DiMaggio Cut” was painted by Neiman in 1998, and captures DiMaggio batting from the right, in the batter’s box at Yankee Stadium, with a large crowd in the background bleachers. The bold colors of Neiman’s painting perfectly portray DiMaggio as the larger-than-life figure he was for New York sports fans of the 1940s and early 1950s. The white paper print has slight wrinkles in the right margin and is displayed in a 42 x 48-inch black wood and glass frame.
