Big-time playmakers Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, John Taylor and Roger Craig carried the 1989 San Francisco 49ers to the number one scoring offense in the NFL and a 14-2 record in the regular season. Montana completed 70.2% of his passes for 3,521 yards and 26 touchdowns, while both Rice (1,483) and Taylor (1,077) exceeded 1,000 receiving yards; Craig rushed for 1,054 yards. Charles Haley and Pierce Holt each recorded 10.5 sacks on the defensive side of the ball. The 49ers cruised through the postseason, which ended with a 55-10 blowout over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV.

Offered here is a 10K gold 1989 San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl championship prototype ring - manufactured by Balfour – which is highlighted by four large CZs that are set in the images of Vince Lombardi Trophies. “WORLD CHAMPIONS 81 84 88 89” reads around the perimeter in relief work. A 49ers team helmet centers one shank of the ring with the name “MONTANTA” above and “49ERS” below. The opposite shank displays images of four championship trophies and the Golden Gate Bridge, with “BACK TO BACK” reading at the top and “TEAM OF THE DECADE” shown at the bottom. This ring is an approximate size 11 with the weight being approximately 38.0 grams and comes with a Balfour ring box and owner's original purchase LOA.
