Offered is a framed and mounted pair of color photographs of legendary UCLA men’s basketball coach John Wooden, with an inscription and signature from him.  The left side of the presentation has a 6½ x 7½-inch color photograph of Wooden in a close-up portrait of him with his left hand under his chin.  Beneath the photo is an inscription, in gold marker on 2½ x 4½-inch white paper, “Failure to prepare is preparing to fail! John Wooden.”  To the right is a 6½ x 7½-inch color photograph of Wooden, in a blue suit, light blue shirt, and red tie, posed outside on the steps of a building.  Wooden has his arms crossed in front.   Below that photo is a 2½ x 4½-inch white paper with the inscription, “Best Wishes John Wooden UCLA” in gold ink.  The two photos and two inscriptions are mounted in a light blue paper matte with gold boarders, in a 17 x 21-inch gold and white wooden frame.  There is slight peeling of the gold paint on the left center side of the frame.  Wooden (10/14/1910-6/4/2010) was the head coach at UCLA from 1948 to 1975 and won 10 NCAA National Championship titles with the Bruins in a 12-year period including seven in a row.  The UCLA teams coached by the “Wizard of Westwood” won an NCAA men's basketball record 88 consecutive games. Wooden won the prestigious Henry Iba Award as national coach of the year a record seven times and won the Associated Press award five times.  This item has been authenticated by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication and comes with a LOA.
