In celebrating the incredible career of Kobe Bryant, which lasted 20 season, all the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Times ran a full-page special retirement issue on April 17, 2016, four days after Bryant played his final game of his historic career on April 13, 2016. “KOBE” is printed in bold white letters above his stoic image that takes up almost the entire fold out. Kobe signed his name in silver marker below the “KOBE”. Printed below his image on the front in white is “He was a high school phenomenon. An NBA MVP. He was a two-time scoring champion, once scoring 81 points in a game, and is third in career scoring. He was an 18-time All-Star, four times named MVP of the game. He won two Olympic gold medals. He was twice NBA Finals MVP. He played in the Finals seven times, and won five championship rings. He is for now and all time a Laker”. The back cover shows the Lakers in a huddle with the caption above in white “EVERY DREAM IS A JOURNEY, AND WE’RE WITH YOU ALL THE WAY. DREAM UP, LA.” This piece of Kobe Bryant history comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication for Kobe’s signature.
